This ecological documentary tells the story of a conservationist’s quest to recreate the spawning grounds for squids off the northeastern coast of Taiwan. With the help of a passionate team of volunteers, marine conservationist Kuo Tao-ren cuts bamboo from the mountain and use it to create new spawning reefs at the bottom of the sea. Director Ko Jin-Yuan winningly captures the team’s efforts and success in reviving the squid population as well as the astounding beauty of the ocean.
